It has been 7 months since El Camino Cantina opened its doors at Westfield Miranda’s rooftop dining precinct, and what a great 7 months it has been! Offering up the best in Tex-Mex food and fruity margaritas, it is the perfect locale for a Friday night out with friends in Sydney's south. From boppy tunes blasting from the speakers, to an explosion of colour making its way into every corner of the playful venue, it is everything you can expect and more from the popular Tex-Mex chain. 1. Margaritas galore
From jumbo margaritas to margarita towers, you are sure to get your tequila fix. And yes, you read that right, El Camino serves margarita towers! - plenty of tequila goodness to celebrate the end of the week.Margaritas are served in two ways at this cantina - on the rocks and frozen. If you’re after a classic marg, then on the rocks is the way to go. Feeling a little more adventurous? Try a frozen mango margarita - it tastes as good as it sounds. Other fruity choices to take your pick from include strawberry and tropical red bull. Yum!
Looking for something a little different or just want to be surprised? Try the Margarita of the Month! February’s delicious concoction, ‘The Sweet Heart’, was raspberry flavoured and topped with candied love hearts. Talk about cute!
2. Burritos for days
You can’t go to a Mexican cantina and not try the food! At El Camino Cantina, you can try the best in Mexican-inspired dishes - think burrito bowls, quesadillas and tacos. Delish!Plus, if you pop in during Happy Hour (4-6pm on weekdays), you get free corn chips and salsa! Other weekly specials include $2 Taco Tuesdays, 10c Wings Wednesdays and ½ Price Fajita Thursdays. 3. Electric vibes
The great vibes are plentiful as soon as you step into the cantina. Boasting both a large indoor and outdoor dining space which is always buzzing with people, it is an exciting place to be. Mingle with friends at one of the many colourful tables that fill the space, or sit at the bar to take in the atmosphere (and to be close to the cocktails!). The neon signs covering the walls and multicoloured décor also make for a fun and electric feel - just the place you want to be on a Friday night!
4. Salsa tunes
One of the coolest things about this bar is that you can choose the music that plays throughout the venue! By using a touch screen on the wall, you can line up your fave party anthems to get the night started. It’s so easy to use, that the hardest thing you'll have to worry about is deciding whether to play Beyoncé or Rihanna first! Tough choice, we know!
5. Insta-worthy pics
You can’t go to El Camino Cantina and not snap a pic in one of their cute sombreros! It’s a rite of passage! But it’s not only the sombreros that are insta-worthy.
